The Kilfinane OETC Climbing Academy is a new initiative from Kilfinane Outdoor Education & Training Centre for youths aged 8-12 years and 13-17 years.

As well as being great fun Rockclimbing is an excellent sport for the development of fitness, agility, decision making, trust and partnership.

Following on from a number of successful climbing projects the Kilifinane OETC Climbing Academy will aim to develop climbing skills for young people over a longer term project, making climbing accessible to youths in the area.

Our climbing academy will take place at our Rockwall, one day a week after school, in blocks of 6-8 weeks for the first two school terms. Places are limited for each age group and preference for places will be given to children based on previous attendance.

The Kilfinane OETC Climbing Academy aims to make climbing as accessible as possible to youths in the Limerick area. The project will be led by staff from Kilfinane OETC but we would welcome the support of any adults who would like to volunteer to help with the project. Training will be provided. We are also seeking the financial support of any businesses or organisations who would be in a position to sponsor a child to participate in the project.
